Keith Allen - Eb Bass
I am married, with two grown up children and I was born and educated in Exeter. I began playing a brass instrument as an 11 year old in Ladysmith School band and Topsham & Lympstone Band. I eventually emigrated to Australia and on returning after 4 years, rejoined Lympstone Band on bass. Later on I transferred to Sidmouth Town Band where I played principal euphonium for 19 years. I also played with Tiverton Band on Bb bass for 5 years and am currently playing the same instrument with South Molton and Ottery St. Mary Bands. Having retired from being an AA patrolman, after 29 years of service, I now work part-time at Exeter Nuffield Hospital as a theatre porter, which means I have the time to guest with several local bands; including Sidmouth, Torbay and Soundhouse Plymouth. I have also played with Honiton Band several times over the last 3 years (~ reader, he joined the band..). Their trip to Germany was my second trip abroad with a brass band, having travelled to Texas in 2006, with Tiverton Band.
